I really am spoiled with the best clients ever. Hillary and Paul are two of my favorites and I’ve been looking forward to their wedding since I first met them over a year ago!
We started the day getting ready at the Mayflower Hotel in the Presidential Suite which was stunning! Hillary had gorgeous and very personal details like the custom made welcome bags she put together. She even HANDMADE the chocolate favors featuring the D.C. skyline and the American flag chocolate covered Oreos. Not only is this girl beautiful and smart but she has some serious baking skills as well!
After she put her dress on Hillary and I headed downstairs to the Mayflower lobby for her first look with Paul which was so sweet. I love watching couples see each other for the first time on their wedding day and watch the nerves and stress melt away as soon as their in each other’s presence.
Hillary and Paul arranged permits so that we could take bridal and couple portraits at the Jefferson and Capitol building. Despite the fact that it was a perfect and sunny fall day out we managed to get some cloud covering during our portraits at just the right time which I was pretty excited about! I loved the way the subtly fall colored flowers in the bouquets (made by J Morris Flowers) popped against the navy blue of the bridesmaid dresses in all of the photos.
After portrait time we headed back to the Mayflower for the ceremony and an amazing reception. The entire day went absolutely flawlessly thanks to expert coordination and planning by Caroline Dutton Events – one of my favorite planners to work with!
Hillary and Paul – I am so happy for you both and couldn’t have imagined a more perfect and heartfelt day – from your sweet first look and the gorgeous weather to your first dance and the sentimental toasts! Thank you for choosing me to be a part of it!
