Get ready for a whole lot of pretty coming your way! From the gorgeous florals by Kruse and Vieira Events to Liz’s captivating smile, this entire wedding was a joy to capture!
Ben and I have been spending the summer in Boston so I flew down to D.C. for Liz and Brad’s Mayflower wedding last weekend which I had been highly anticipating for a while. I knew from the moment I first met with Liz that she had flawless style and was exactly the type of person I love to work with – warm, inviting, down-to-earth but on her A-game when it comes to wedding planning, surrounding herself with great friends and putting together a beautiful day.
We started the day with getting ready photos at the Mayflower hotel in D.C. where I totally went overboard with detail photos and capturing bouquets, Liz’ invitation suite, the welcome gifts she put together and her beautiful bridesmaids. After Liz put her dress on we took a short party bus ride over to St. Matthew’s Cathedral a few block away which is one of my favorite Catholic churches in the city with it’s stunning gold accents and cavernous sanctuary. I loved watching Brad and Liz exchange vows and make their life commitment to each other official.
After the ceremony we had one heck of a party bus ride (photos from that not included in this blog post!) to Georgetown’s campus for portraits. Liz just completed her MBA at Georgetown (yes, she’s beautiful AND smart) and the rain held off for us so we were able to get some great outdoor portraits in front of the classic Georgetown University architecture. I’m just a bit obsessed with the cold-shoulder Jenny Yoo bridesmaids dresses in the perfect shade of blue that Liz picked out for her bridal party!
The day concluded with a stunning reception at the Mayflower coordinated and designed by Kruse and Vieira Events. Everything from the escort card display to the greenery on the head table and amazing cake by Fluffy Thoughts was perfect and tied the classic and sophisticated simplicity of the wedding day together.
Liz and Brad – I am SO happy for both of you! You are both such wonderful people and I hope you are having a wonderful time in St. Lucia!
