I’ve unintentionally and unwillingly been a bit quiet on the blog recently! Ben finished up his Air Force commitment May 19th and that very evening we jetted off to France for two weeks. We were back in DC for two days for me to shoot a wedding and then we took off again for a cruise to Mexico with his family (a kind of last hurrah vacation for his entire family being together for an extended period of time for a while). Literally two days after we got back from the cruise we packed up our tiny Honda Fit (which is actually surprisingly large and accommodating…kind of like Marry Poppins’ carpet bag) and moved up to Boston!
It’s been a whirlwind of a past couple of months but I’m looking forward to doing a more extensive life update on the blog later and settling into the city where we met, fell in love and are IN LOVE WITH.
Which brings me to Maryellen and Chris’ engagement session! This was the first wedding related shoot I’ve done since being back in Boston and it reminded me all over again why I love this city so much. Between the stunning architecture, old brick streets, the natural beauty of the Public Garden (where Ben proposed!) you can’t beat the combination of old world charm with modern metropolis.
We started our session in the Public Gardens and though light was waning quickly were able to sneak in a few portraits in Beacon Hill on the iconic Acorn Street which is pretty much Boston in a nutshell (no pun intended!).
I am so excited to shoot Maryellen and Chris’ wedding next year. They are so sweet and I had such a good time hanging out with them and getting to know them better!
